Festival Medical Services goes into the jungle
British charitable organisation Festival Medical Services recently agreed to the three-year funding of a desperately needed full-time doctor in the Indian Jungle.
The Tulsi Trust, which supports an Indian jungle health and education project based deep in jungle territory, seven hours from the nearest big city of Raipur, received the funding from FMS following an appeal made by Dr. Rueben West.
Now that funding for the doctor position is secured for three years, the project’s volunteers are putting all their energy into finishing the hospital, a much-needed facility in the area which will boast fully equipped wards when complete. The Trust has already been instrumental in the provision of a school, allowing for the education of 260 local children, and the creation of 13 teaching positions.
The Tulsi Trust helps Bengali resettled refugees and the indigenous Adivaashi aboriginals of the interior area of Madhya Pradesh, India. You can read more about the marvellous work done by visiting the Tulsi Trust website.
